This week on FEW Members' Corner, we would like to introduce you to Amanda Quigley, Founder and creator of Ciencia anti-ageing SkinCare, vegan and innovative natural anti-ageing solutions with proven results.
Hi Amanda, can you tell us more about your entrepreneurial journey?
I’m Amanda Quigley and I’m the founder and creator of Ciencia SkinCare. I have had over 30 years experience as a dermal Clinician. I come from a family with four generations of professions in the beauty industry. I’m recognised as a leader in the field of innovative and natural anti-ageing solutions and owns the highly awarded paramedical clinic Ciencia skincare salon in high-end Suburb Of Armadale in Melbourne, Australia. I have client base ranging from celebrities to full-time Mums to professionals and works in conjunction with over 300 scientists and cosmetic surgeons to constantly improve the Ciencia range based on feedback from her customers.The Ciencia8 range is formulated and manufactured in Melbourne, Australia.
I have changed thousands of people’s life and given them back their confidence. The success of my company is it is the No 1 selling Brand on Australia’s biggest T.V home shopping channel for 12 years.
What inspired you to start your company?
I created the range of Ciencia products to address the issues that were raised by my clients. These included costs and downtime of injectables, the lack of results of the products available and I also realised that a lot of my customers did not want to go down the path of invasive treatments. Whenever new technology becomes available we are committed to bringing it to our customers. Ciencia became the biggest seller on Australian TV because our customers were given the results promised. This doesn’t happen over night. We deliver what we promise and over time our customers realise this and continue to buy Ciencia.
So far, what's the most challenging part of your journey?
My biggest challenge was, and still is, to make women believe in themselves and give them the confidence to make informative decisions. For women to buy products that actually work, not listen to smart marketing strategies put together by large international companies that spend huge amounts of money on marketing but not on research and development. To overcome this challenge I travelled the world to research and develop the best actives available. This led me to be able to offer a brand that is packed with actives that enable Ciencia to deliver to our customers the results we promise. But the challenge never ends. We rely on the scientific research and development of our suppliers.
What’s the biggest lesson you have learned whilst building Ciencia?
I have learned to listen to my customers. I have thousands of emails and letters from my customers telling me how Ciencia has changed their lives. This makes me so proud. If I could help one person I would have been happy but the feedback from my customers makes me cry.

The biggest mistake is not to listen to your customers and also insure your products contain the highest level of active ingredients

Provide the team with knowledge to know the products and the science behind the Brand. Meetings for open discussion. Ensuring the team is as enthusiastic and confident as the owner.

I build credibility and trust by bringing honest, passion-able and delights in client’s results, I insure all my business partners succeed and I only do business with partners that share my vision.
